Zimmer had paused the gift over Harvard’s response to October 7 and campus antisemitism. He returned after talks with university leaders and stronger rules against discrimination.

Harvard is naming its Science Center after his father, a physician. It also advanced kosher dining and reaffirmed outreach to Jewish schools.

The donation supports science education, while Zimmer’s involvement puts Jewish students’ treatment firmly on the university’s agenda.
