The property is now listed for $9.85 million, and his estate says a significant portion of the sale will go to charities and organizations that mattered to him and his husband, Joshua Robison.

Thomas died in April 2026 at age 81 after battling brain cancer. He was one of America’s most celebrated conductors, led the San Francisco Symphony for decades and performed with major orchestras around the world.

His Jewish background was also a major part of his life. He came from a well-known Yiddish theater family and maintained strong ties to Jewish culture throughout his career.

Now part of the fortune he leaves behind will continue supporting causes he cared about long after his death.
