The Jewish Kushner family’s real estate company has rented 28,500 square feet in its Manhattan Puck Building to Gentle Monster, a South Korean luxury glasses and sunglasses brand. The agreement runs for more than 10 years, according to Commercial Observer’s source.

The brand will open a store in space previously occupied by outdoor retailer REI, which closed in July. The historic building sits in SoHo, one of Manhattan’s best-known shopping neighborhoods.

Nicole Kushner Meyer, the company’s president and Jared Kushner’s sister, welcomed the new tenant. She said the deal completes the building’s transition to a new generation of businesses while preserving its historic character.

The rent and store opening date have not been disclosed. Gentle Monster is renting space from the Kushner family’s company.
