Amazon is in talks to buy Decart, an AI company built by Israeli military veterans, for around $7 billion, according to a Sunday Wall Street Journal report.

Dean Leitersdorf and Moshe Shalev met while serving in Israel’s military intelligence Unit 8200 before founding Decart in 2023. Dean’s brother Orian is also a co-founder. Their software helps AI run faster and more cheaply on different computer chips, and Amazon is already a customer.

The company has appeared in earlier sale reports, but those talks never produced an announced purchase. Nvidia held reported negotiations, and Nebius was linked to interest. Elon Musk denied the SpaceX purchase report, while Anthropic, the company behind Claude, explored a roughly $6 billion deal before reportedly walking away in September.

Amazon is now the latest reported buyer, with no agreement announced and negotiations still underway.
