Israeli airline El Al has reached an average stock-market value of about $3.6 billion, earning its first-ever place in Israel’s main stock index, according to Globes.
The airline will join the TA-35 on November 5. The index tracks 35 of the largest companies listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange that meet its requirements.
El Al qualified with an average value of 11.05 billion shekels during the measurement period. That equals roughly $3.6 billion at current exchange rates.
The milestone puts the airline alongside some of Israel’s biggest publicly traded businesses. The figure represents the combined value of its shares, not its revenue or profit.
