India’s Essar Group acquired the stations through its purchase of SGN Retail, doubling its British network to 235 locations.
Mizrahi Tefahot, led by CEO Moshe Lari, joined international lenders providing a £250 million loan package to support the acquisition.
Essar plans to supply the stations directly from its British oil refinery, reducing distribution costs and aiming to offer drivers competitive fuel prices.
The purchase brings Essar closer to its goal of operating 800 gas stations across Britain by 2031.
