The arena will become the new home of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers and the city’s new WNBA team. It will also host concerts and major entertainment events.
Harris and Blitzer’s company will own the arena through a 50-50 partnership with Comcast Spectacor. The privately funded project is planned for the former Spectrum site in South Philadelphia and is expected to open in 2030.
The arena is expected to create nearly 15,000 jobs, generate almost $6 billion in economic activity over its first decade and deliver hundreds of millions of dollars in new tax revenue.
