The money will be invested between 2027 and 2030 across Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Chile. Prime Video says it plans to more than double the number of local shows and movies it produces across the five countries compared with 2026, including more than 25 new titles in 2027 alone.
Amazon is also using major sports rights to expand Prime Video’s reach. Through its 11-year global NBA deal, Prime Video now offers more than 200 NBA games per season in Brazil and Mexico and is bringing NBA coverage to Argentina, Colombia and Chile for the first time.
Prime Video is also becoming a new home for Mexico’s national soccer team, carrying 38 home matches over four years beginning next month.
The $2 billion commitment gives Jassy’s Amazon a much larger position in Latin American entertainment, combining locally produced shows and movies with some of the region’s most valuable sports programming.
