A Pentagon memo says Palantir is already helping the military and major defense companies find problems that are slowing down the production and repair of weapons, missiles and other military equipment. Officials say the work has already led to improvements.

Palantir builds software that takes huge amounts of information and puts it together so officials can quickly see where problems are happening. Its technology is already used across the US military, including AI-powered systems used on the battlefield.

The new $244 million would come on top of Palantir’s rapidly growing Pentagon business. The company already has a massive Army software deal worth up to $10 billion over 10 years, making it one of America’s most important military technology companies.

The Pentagon memo also calls for officials to find additional money for Palantir through the end of 2028, meaning the company’s role inside America’s military could continue growing well beyond the proposed $244 million.
