The AI giant is led by Jewish co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei, who started Anthropic in 2021 with his sister Daniela and other former OpenAI employees. The company has since grown into one of OpenAI’s biggest competitors.
Anthropic reportedly finished May with annualized revenue above $47 billion, while investors expect that number could reach $100 billion to $120 billion by the end of the year. Its most recent funding round valued the company at about $965 billion.
The company has already filed confidential paperwork with U.S. regulators as it prepares for a potential IPO, with Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley reportedly leading the process.
If Anthropic reaches a $2 trillion valuation, it could become the largest IPO in history and make Amodei’s six-year-old AI company one of the most valuable businesses in the world.
