Speaking in an interview with ynet, Dershowitz said he personally believes Graham’s death from an aortic dissection was most likely a tragic natural event. However, he argued that a transparent, evidence-based investigation is important to address rumors spreading online and protect Graham’s legacy.
Dershowitz described Graham as one of Israel’s strongest supporters in the United States Senate, saying he loved Israel, believed in a strong U.S.-Israel alliance and remained committed to peace through military strength. He said Graham’s support for Israel came from principle, not politics or religious beliefs.
The longtime attorney also said Graham was deeply concerned about Iran and believed the Iranian regime remained one of the biggest threats to peace in the Middle East. According to Dershowitz, Graham had recently urged President Donald Trump to continue taking a hard line against Iran.
Dershowitz added that Graham’s death is a major loss for both America and Israel, calling him an irreplaceable champion whose strong support for the Jewish state will be difficult to replace.
