Jewish commentator and Daily Wire cofounder Ben Shapiro is releasing “Confession,” a movie he wrote starring Rob Lowe, James Franco and Nick Nolte.

It comes out November 11, with a one-night screening in 100 U.S. theaters and streaming on The Daily Wire the same day.

Set in Moscow in 1938 under Stalin’s dictatorship, the story follows a jailed professor, played by Lowe, who is pressured to betray a priest to save himself. Franco plays his interrogator, a former student.

The cast also includes Jennifer Jason Leigh, Brad Dourif and Kodi Smit-McPhee. Five cast members are Oscar nominees.

Shapiro says the film explores standing up to tyranny and is part of his company’s effort to compete with Hollywood.
