Attar previously founded Israeli camera company LinX Imaging and sold it to Apple in 2015. He then joined Apple and led major computational photography projects used inside the iPhone.
In 2019, Attar founded Glass Imaging with former Apple engineer Tom Bishop. Their technology uses artificial intelligence to give small cameras image quality closer to professional cameras.
Glass Imaging’s technology can be used in smartphones, drones and wearable devices. The company was valued at approximately $100 million last year before OpenAI tripled that figure through its purchase.
