The Tel Aviv 35, which tracks 35 of Israel’s largest public companies, jumped 40.5% over the past Jewish year. During the same period, Wall Street’s S&P 500 gained just 16%, meaning Israel’s leading index rose more than 2.5 times as much.
The strength went beyond the biggest companies. The broader Tel Aviv 125 climbed 37%, while Israel’s insurance stocks soared an incredible 94.5%.
The total value of stocks listed in Tel Aviv also surged from NIS 1.7 trillion to NIS 3.1 trillion, crossing NIS 3 trillion for the first time.
Despite war, security threats and global uncertainty, investors kept putting money into Israeli businesses, helping Israel’s stock market dramatically outperform Wall Street.
