Andreessen Horowitz manages approximately $100 billion and has backed global giants including Facebook, Instagram, Airbnb, SpaceX and OpenAI. The firm has now appointed entrepreneur Asaf Ezra as its first Israeli partner and doubled the number of people searching Israel for promising companies.
Ezra will invest millions of dollars in selected Israeli startups working in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and the technology powering major computer systems.
The expansion follows the firm’s successful investment in Israeli cybersecurity company Wiz. Andreessen Horowitz helped lead Wiz’s $1 billion funding round before Google purchased the company for $32 billion, earning the firm approximately 2.5 to three times its investment.
Horowitz’s firm now wants to find Israel’s next global technology giant earlier, and invest before the rest of Silicon Valley arrives.
