Vance has not announced a presidential campaign, but he is widely seen as the early Republican favorite for 2028. The group includes influential donors and political leaders, but many have questioned whether Vance is supportive enough of Israel.
Vance told the room that Israel is one of America’s most important allies and said Republicans must explain that relationship to younger Americans. He also condemned antisemitism and attacked Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes, but refused to distance himself from longtime ally Tucker Carlson.
The meeting ended with a standing ovation. Former White House spokesman Ari Fleischer called it “progress day” for Vance and the Jewish community, although some attendees say they remain unconvinced.
