LinkedIn opened the Tel Aviv center after acquiring Oribi in 2022. The Israeli startup built technology that helps companies understand how people use websites and measure whether their advertising is actually working.
Since the acquisition, Oribi’s technology has been integrated into LinkedIn’s advertising business, where it helps companies measure the results of their ads. The Israeli team continued developing those measurement and analytics tools.
LinkedIn, which is owned by Microsoft, is now closing the standalone Israeli R&D operation as part of a wider effort to focus its teams on its highest-priority businesses. A small number of employees are expected to remain temporarily.
The closure does not mean Microsoft is leaving Israel. LinkedIn’s center operated separately from Microsoft’s own Israeli development operations, and the technology LinkedIn acquired from Oribi has already been incorporated into its global platform.
