Jewish Actor Sacha Baron Cohen Secretly Films New Ali-G Movie More Than 20 Years After The Original Hit

The movie was filmed entirely in secret, following the same approach Cohen used for his hit films Borat and Brüno. Very few details have been released, and the project only became public after filming had already wrapped.

Ali G first became famous in the late 1990s before starring in HBO’s Da Ali G Show and the 2002 movie Ali G Indahouse. The over-the-top comedy character became a global hit by interviewing celebrities, politicians and world leaders with intentionally awkward and humorous questions.

Cohen has built one of the most successful comedy careers in Hollywood, starring in films including Borat, The Dictator, Brüno, The Trial of the Chicago 7 and Les Misérables. He has also won multiple Golden Globe Awards and received Oscar and Emmy nominations throughout his career.

While no release date has been announced, the return of Ali G is expected to be one of the biggest comedy releases for longtime fans of the character.
