Shukrun had gone with his eldest son to a natural spring near Neve Tzuf to immerse before the fast, a tradition many observant Jewish men follow before Yom Kippur.

A gunman opened fire near the spring, critically wounding Shukrun. He was rushed by helicopter to the hospital but later died. His son survived the attack.

Shukrun leaves behind his wife and six children, including a youngest child just four years old.

The suspected attacker was later captured by Israeli forces.

May His Memory Be A Blessing 🙏
